Graham Potter was brought to the club in September in hope that he could turn this Chelsea side back into Premier League title contenders, but despite adding so many players to the squad, they are struggling.
And after loss after loss after loss – there has been alot of rumours that Pochettino is a man that the club may look to employ over the next few weeks, if Potter cannot turn things around.
Southampton showed greater cohesion despite only having had five days to prepare under the leadership of caretaker boss Selles, who replaced the sacked Nathan Jones a week ago, was further indictment of the direction CHELSEA are taking under Potter.

Pochettino has been without a job since leaving PSG at the end of last season, and the report claims that some at CHELSEA feel he should replace Potter due to the Blues’ form this campaign.
However – amid the speculation – Frank McAvennie has backed Graham Potter to turn things around at Chelsea and keep his job despite calls for him to be sacked.
“I think Todd Boehly will give Graham Potter a chance to work with his own players,” McAvennie told Football Insider.
“None of them are his players and it’d be strange to sack him for someone else’s players.
“They need a clear-out in the summer, but I think Potter can turn it around at Chelsea.
“Most other clubs would’ve sacked him by now.
“But Boehly needs to give him a couple of windows, not only to build his own squad but to offload players that don’t want to be there.
“There are too many players at Chelsea that aren’t concerned about not playing.“
Kante to sign up –
N’Golo Kante looks set to stay at CHELSEA after agreeing a new three-year contract with the club, according to reports.
Now we all know that Kante is one of the best holding midfielders in the world and has been brilliant for Chelsea ever since you moved from Leicester City a few years ago.
His contract with the Blues runs out at the end of the season and there has been alot of speculation about his current situation at Stamford Bridge – and there has been a number of links with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain – Manchester United – Real Madrid Barcelona and even Arsenal
Chelsea do not want to lose him – that has been claimed in the media on many occasions and They have offered him a contract worth about £290,000 a week. But according to reports he had rejected the terms as the length of the contract is not what he desires, and he is currently considering his future at the club.
But according to French outlet Foot Mercato, he will pen a new deal that will keep him at the Bridge until 2026, with the option to extend until 2027.

CHELSEA’s board have vowed to stick by Graham Potter ahead of a crucial week at Stamford Bridge.
Potter is rated as one of the very best young managers in the Premier League and is a man that Chelsea have big hopes that will get the club back to challenging for that Premier League and Champions League again.
However – after a good start, Potter is already under fire and tipped to be the next Premier League boss sacked seeing his side just won once in their last 11 fixtures this season.
Recent reports have claimed that the board have decided that they may now have to get rid of Potter if he is unable to turn things around at Stamford Bridge
But the Guardian say Boehly has no intention of sacking Potter and is intent on sticking by him, regardless of the results in the next two games.
Sacking Potter ahead of these games is seen as some as the club’s last opportunity to salvage their campaign.

Potter is a very good young manager that is at the wrong club, CHELSEA need an experienced manager that is able to cope with playing at the top level, he is not there yet.
There is alot of speculation that he is the next boss to be heading towards the sack, and honestly if he goes out that Champions League and loses a few more games, he is gone
How can he stay put? the pressure is immense, and he has already lost the dressing room at Stamford Bridge – players look like they dont want to play for him.
