Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal fc news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed –
Arsenal FC technical director Edu has been warned that any January deal for Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk will have to be a club record.
There is no doubt that this Arsenal squad are just a couple of big signings away from really competing for that Premier League title – and not just keeping the top spot warmed for Manchester City.
That has led to all sorts of speculation in the media that Arsenal are very much interested in trying to get a deal done for Mudryk – an are even reportedly in talks over a possible transfer deal.
The Ukrainian star has caught the eye this season with some stellar performances in the Champions League – where He scored three times and added two assists from six appearances in the competition.
However – amid all the speculation and all th rumours Shakhtar chief executive Sergei Palkin has told The Athletic that any fee is likely to cost Arsenal FC a club record fee.
“Mudryk is a talent in a process. What he is showing today, it’s just 60 per cent of what he can do in the future. And when you multiply this, you realise that he costs much, much more.
“Therefore, we believe that in the future he can cost definitely around €100 million.”
However, Shakhtar’s director of football Dario Srna insists it is the market, rather than they, who dictate today’s prices: “The market is deciding the price – not me,” Srna said.
“Antony, Grealish, they are players of more than €100m and for me, Mudryk does not have less quality than them.”
Mudryk is a very talented player that has a big future in the game – but Arsenal should not pay anywhere near that £87 million asking price – he is not worth that kind of money…..YET
Thuram chance –
Arsenal now have a ‘big opportunity’ to sign Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram – according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
After a solid summer transfer window that saw some quality players make the move to the Emirates – Arsenal are now sitting pretty at the very top of the Premier League
However – The Gunners were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Brighton after losing 3-1 at the Emirates, their first home defeat of the season and only their third loss of the campaign so far.
It shows that there is a lack of depth in that Gunners squad that Mikel Arteta knows he needs to improve on when the transfer window opens up – and they are now reportedly interested in Thuram.
The Borussia Monchengladbach striker has scored 12 goals along with 4 assist this season and is being targeted by other European giants.
And With Arsenal looking to bring reinforcements in January, Thuram could be on Mikel Arteta’s wishlist – it has been claimed
Now Romano has claimed that Thuram will ‘consider all options in the next months’ with the January transfer window fast approaching.
“I think there will be many rumours around Thuram as he’s good player available as potential free agent in the summer,” he wrote for CaughtOffside.
He added: “So, there are many clubs approaching his agent.
“From what I’m told, he’s not going to extend the contract, so it makes a big opportunity for many clubs in the summer.
“Let’s see if Arsenal will decide, or any other club, to negotiate in January for a different price.”
Thuram has been very impressive this season for the German outfit so it is easy to see why Arsenal want him – but if they are really interested in getting a deal done – they will
Edu has shown that he is not a man to waste time when it is players they are keen on
Odegaard claim made –
Fabrice Muamba has praised Arsenal’s decision to sign Martin Odegaard – who has been a great signing for the club
Odegaard was hailed as the next Lionel Messi when he burst onto the scene as a teenager – and Real Madrid quickly swooped in and took him to the Bernabeu.
But despite all the hype and all the quality that he possessed – he could never quite make it at the Spanish giants and was shipped out on numerous loans before Arsenal moved in and completed his signing on a permanent basis.
He has been brilliant for the Gunners since his move to the Emirates – and this season he is really starting to show why so many bosses around Europe believe he can still become one of the best in his position.
And Muamba has has praised Arsenal’s decision to sign the midfielder – he said: “Odegaard, wow. This guy signed for Real Madrid at a young age and then moved to Arsenal on loan.
“My word he is a different player. He controls the momentum for Arsenal. He is David Silva. When David Silva was at City he was what he is for Arsenal,”
“He controls the tempo of the game, his vision, he’s one of the best technical players in this league. No doubt about it, you can’t argue with that.
“Odegaard has matured a lot, he’s the captain, he’s a leader, he’s scoring goals and he’s defending.
“I can see why Arsenal went above and beyond to get this guy. Arteta saw something special in him.”
Arsenal have made so many transfer mistakes over the season – but this is certainly not one – Odegaard is brilliant
