Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has been linked with a number of clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
However, Liverpool are said to be increasingly confident in signing Mount come summer, according to talkSPORT reports.
Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is determined to make some changes in his midfield options next year and has identified the Blues player as an ideal candidate to lead the major overhaul.
Some sources close to the 24-year-old star have reportedly suggested a move to Merseyside is in fact “highly likely”.
Should Mount be unable to reach a new agreement with Chelsea to extend his contract by the summer, Chelsea will have a major decision as to whether they would allow a rival to sign an academy product.
It is unlikely the Blues would let Mount move to a club in the EPL as there are also interest for him in the Spanish La Liga.
