The Hammers have had big dreams of signing the gifted young man – so this will be a blow to their transfer plans as they know that they will not be able to compete with all those big clubs

But they can offer him a good wage and alot of game time – so there is still a chance

Rice to be sold?

West Ham United may be forced to cash in on Declan Rice so the club that rebuild the squad, according to Paul Robinson.

Over the past few seasons Declan Rice has developed into one of the best players at the club – and one of the most impressive midfielders that the Premier League has to offer.

He really is the leader at the Hammers and a man that they are hoping to keep at the club for as long as they are possibly too – but that has not stopped speculation regarding his long-term future at the club

Chelsea fc are continuing to be linked with a move for the England International – and it is believed that Rice has already made up his mind about leaving the Hammers after rejecting the clubs massive contract offer

Now – with the midfielder currently in Qatar for the World Cup – Speaking to Football Insider, the former England goalkeeper discussed West Ham’s financial situation heading into the upcoming January transfer window.

He believes that Rice may need to be sacrificed for the greater good – he stated: “West Ham have been very inconsistent this year. They had a poor start, picked it up but have now slipped up again.

“Perhaps European football is playing a part. They might be finding it hard to juggle the games.

“Most managers want to strengthen in January, especially those that are struggling.

“It sounds as if West Ham will not be able to significantly strengthen again until they sell Declan Rice.

“If he is not going to sign a new contract, they will probably look to sell him in the next year 18 months.

“That is probably when the next big influx of money will come in.

“The money generated from Rice’s sale could take the squad on to the next level.”

Keane claim made –

West Ham  target and Everton star Michael Keane would be a “good signing” for the club, says transfer reporter Dean Jones.

The veteran centre-back, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has made just five starts this season after struggling with injury and it has been claimed that he will be leaving the Hammers in the coming transfer windows

And it has been claimed that new Aston Villa boss Unai Emery will be in the market for an experienced central defender as he looks to get the club higher up the Premier League – and solve their defensive issues

According to recent reports on Football Insider, West Ham have ‘registered their interest’ in Keane and have made an ‘approach’ ahead of a potential move in the winter transfer window

The reports claims The Irons are believed to have held a strong interest in the 29-year-old over the summer, and are now taking a second bite at the cherry.

It’s claimed that the Merseyside outfit are ‘willing to listen to offers’, with £10m set to be enough to seal a deal in the January window.

And if you believe the words of Jones – he would be a very good signing for the Hammers.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: “I think Michael Keane would be a good signing if West Ham can get him, but I certainly don’t think that would be the only thing that they need in the January market.”

Keane is a very solid defender that has shown that he is very capable of handing the best strikers in the Premier League – and for £10 million – he could be a very good squad member

But that is what he would probably end up being – a squad member that is no better than what the Hammers have in the side already
