Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Kouadio Kone is expected to join a Premier League club this summer, according to Football Transfers.

In his latest exclusive for the site, Jacque Talbot reports that both Newcastle and Liverpool are admirers of the impressive 21-year-old known for his ball-winning ability, combative style and press-resistant dribbling.

It’s believed the highly-rated Frenchman will be allowed to leave for a fee in the region of €40m, with Kone expected to be their ‘big sale’ this summer as Monchengladbach look set for a mid-table finish.

Bundesliga sides such as Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig had been credited with interest, but it’s believed the Premier League is the most likely destination.

Talbot adds that Newcastle scouts have been watching Kone over the past year – he was an option explored last summer and remains of interest in our pursuit of a new No 6, although it’s thought we are yet to submit a proposal at this stage.

Another name to add to the list of potential deep-lying midfielders we could target this summer and player that ticks plenty of boxes in terms of age, availability, price and all round potential.
