The Egyptian Basketball Federation confirmed Zamalek Women’s team’s relegation to the second division following the dissolution of the team.
Zamalek’s President Mortada Mansour decided to dissolve the Women’s Basketball team following the heavy defeat against Al Ahly 152-44 in the Super League.
Mansour mentioned that these players didn’t deserve the chance to compete or to represent Zamalek.
The Egyptian Basketball Federation sent an official letter to the competing clubs in the Egyptian Super League confirming Zamalek’s relegation to the second division.
Zamalek will not play any games in the second half of the season which makes them the first team to be relegated this season.
