With games coming thick and fast, Barcelona will have to quickly shift their focus from the win against Real Madrid to the upcoming match versus Valencia this weekend.
The Blaugrana secured an important 1-0 win over Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu and will be buoyed by the result, especially considering that they were without three key players in Pedri, Ousmane Dembele and Robert Lewandowski.
Up next for Xavi Hernandez’s side is a La Liga fixture against Valencia at Spotify Camp Nou.
Heading into the game, the Barcelona manager continues to be short of options in attack as Lewandowski and Dembele remain injured. On top of that, Gavi will be suspended for the contest due to an accumulation of cards.
It leaves Xavi with Ferran Torres, Ansu Fati and Raphinha as the only options in attack. Thus, there is the possibility that the manager could call someone up from the Barça Atletic squad to have some depth in attack.
And, according to Albert Roge, teenage winger Estanis Pedrola is in contention to be named in the Barcelona squad for the upcoming La Liga clash against Valencia.
The journalist states that the 19-year-old La Masia forward trained with the first team today, which puts him in the fray for a possible call-up to the matchday squad when Los Che come visiting later this weekend.
Estanis Pedrola has been in good touch since recovering from an injury that kept him out for a good chunk of the season. The winger has netted five goals in 11 matches for Rafa Marquez’s reserves this campaign and has been knocking on Xavi’s doors recently.
The 19-year-old has already made his senior debut for Barcelona in a La Liga game last season. Most recently, he was named in the squad for the Copa del Rey semi-final clash against Real Madrid on Thursday.
And he could once again find himself with the first-team setup when they take on Valencia this weekend, possibly alongside fellow youngster Angel Alarcon, who has already gotten some minutes under Xavi this term.
